Olga Partners With My Hope Chest To Help Provide Cancer Survivors With Breast Reconstruction Surgery
NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH), owner of the Olga women’s intimates brand, has announced a year-long campaign to raise funds for My Hope Chest in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month this October. My Hope Chest is the only national non-profit organization that helps to fund reconstructive surgery for mastectomy patients who cannot afford the procedure.

Now through April 30, 2015, consumers can support the cause by visiting a dedicated page on the Olga website to donate an amount of their choice (www.olgaintimates.com/my-hope-chest). PVH will match in the brand’s name each consumer’s generosity (up to $75,000). My Hope Chest brings hope for healing by providing patients with the financial ability to acquire their desired reconstruction.
“We understand the importance of breast restoration to a cancer survivor’s self-esteem, dignity and confidence, which is why we have partnered with My Hope Chest,” says Les Hall, President of Core Intimates Brands at PVH. “If a woman makes the life-changing decision to undergo a mastectomy, she should also have the opportunity for reconstruction without the financial burden that may come along with this procedure, especially after what she has just endured.”
The average cost of breast reconstruction can be upwards of $20,000, according to MSN Money. My Hope Chest takes action by pairing patients with surgeons who are willing to perform the breast reconstructions pro bono. My Hope Chest then covers the remaining expenses associated with the surgery, including hospitalization, to help ease the stress on the patients.
“My Hope Chest’s efforts are focused on the ‘celebration of life’ and survivors,” says Alisa Savoretti, founder of My Hope Chest. “We are truly grateful to Olga and PVH Corp. for not only recognizing the uniqueness of our mission but for joining hands to be a part of the solution. We are ever hopeful to see combined donations from consumers and Olga reach $150,000 in the coming year, assisting the charity to continue our unique and important work for breast cancer survivors who had lost hope of feeling like themselves again. We are confident that together we will bring closure and healing for all who desire and bringing hope back to life.”
